Get started with Wheels Chat

Step 1

Start from the welcome screen

1. Open the Wheels Chat app.
2. Choose Log in or Sign up to access your account.
3. Choose Send a message if you only need to contact a plate owner.

You can send a plate message without managing your own plate first. Registering your own plate lets you receive alerts when someone messages you.

Step 2

Sign in with your email

1. Enter your email address.
2. Check your inbox for the six-digit Wheels Chat authorization code.
3. Enter the code in the app to finish signing in.

Wheels Chat uses passwordless sign-in. If you are new, your account is created after you verify your email.

Step 3

Use the dashboard as your home base

1. Open Inbox to review messages sent to your plates.
2. Open My Plates to add or update vehicles.
3. Open Profile to review account details and app version.

Step 4

Add and manage your plates

1. Tap My Plates, then add a plate.
2. Type the plate manually or upload/take a plate photo.
3. Confirm the plate number, state or province, and country.
4. Save notification contact details so messages reach you.

The same plate number can exist in different states or provinces. Wheels Chat uses the plate plus region to route messages correctly.

Step 5

Send a message by plate

1. Tap Send a message.
2. Enter the plate number and region.
3. Write a clear message, such as a parking issue or safety alert.
4. Add an image if it helps explain the situation.
5. Submit the message.

Step 6

Read and manage inbox alerts

1. Open Inbox from the dashboard.
2. Review the message, plate, date, and any attached image.
3. Delete messages you no longer need.

If notifications are enabled, your phone can alert you when a new message arrives for one of your saved plates.
